About Redding CT
Redding
Redding was rated, by Connecticut Magazine, as the # 1 town in the state with a population between 4,700 and 10,000. Rich in history dating back to early eighteenth century, with the implementation of the town’s first zoning regulations in 1950 (revised in 1953), Redding began a transformation into a community inviting to the upwardly mobile New York City commuter.
With the enactment of two-acre zoning in this town that encompasses 31.5 square miles, only its Georgetown section had and retains multi-family and one acre as well as two acre zoning.
Redding has an excellent school system and recreation facilities. Joel Barlow is a regional high school serving Redding as well as Easton. Approximately 90% of the graduates annually are college bound. Topstone Park is the town’s municipal park offering swimming, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and cross-country skiing.
